Dosage
Adults and children older than 14 years
Higher concentration (8 mg per 5 ml of the syrup )
5 ml three times daily (equivalent to 24) mg of bromhexine daily
A maximum of 10 ml three times (48 mg of bromhexine daily)
or if giving by the less concentrated syrup (4 mg per 5 ml )
10 ml three times daily (equivalent to 24) mg of bromhexine day
A maximum of 20 ml three times (48 mg of bromhexine daily)
Children from 6-14 years
Higher concentration (8 mg per 5 ml of the syrup )
2.5 ml three times daily (equivalent to 12) mg of bromhexine daily
A maximum of 3 times 5 ml (24 mg of bromhexine daily)
or if giving by the less concentrated syrup(4 mg per 5 ml of the syrup )
5 ml three times daily (equivalent to 12) mg of bromhexine daily
A maximum of 10 ml three times (24 mg of bromhexine daily)
Children from 2-5 years
Higher concentration (8 mg per 5 ml of the drink)
2.5 ml of the drink only twice a day
(max 8 mg of active substance during the day)
or if giving by the less concentrated syrup(4 mg per 5 ml of the syrup )
5 ml of the syrup twice a day only
